Important changes for September

Entry to the dance studio and blue studio at The Beaulieu Park School will be from the outside doors (fire exits) for all. Toilet facilities will be available for coaches and participants, but not for parents / general public. Parents are not allowed into the sports centre or schools for the time being and must drop off and wait in their cars.

When visiting either Great Leighs Primary School or The Beaulieu Park School, you must queue outside the door
with your children - socially distanced from other pupils and parents - until a teacher gives them permission to enter. At Beaulieu Community Centre please enter the building wearing your mask (adults) - masks can come off when you get to the channels room.

Everyone will be asked to sanitise hands on their way in and out of their dance studio and also after sneezing or coughing.

ALL CLASSES WILL FINISH 5 MINUTES EARLIER THAN USUAL SO WE CAN QUICKLY CLEAN SURFACES BEFORE THE NEXT GROUP. - Children who are staying in for the next class can stay in the room and have this time to change their shoes and stretch/prepare for the next class.

Please be aware some of you may be dropping off to one door (at The Beaulieu Park School) e.g dance studio and picking up at the other side of the building from the blue studio. Please work this out before your first class to save confusion. Miss Jess and I know who is to be sent into other classes and will send them to the other studio accordingly.

We will not let children out of the external doors unless we can see you so please be there ready to collect (this applies to all children except senior classes - high school age upwards who we trust to leave and come back if parents aren't around.) If you believe your child is sensible and old enough to make their way to the car please let us know at drop off.

Dancers Responsibility

  • Sanitise hands at allocated sanitising stations before and after class
  • Sanitise if you sneeze or cough or if you go to the toilet
  • Maintain two meters of social distancing at all times
  • Dispose of any waste tissues correctly into the bin.

Please let your children know the social distancing will be taken very seriously (especially age 6+) we will have no tolerance for messing around and even if the children are in the same school class we need everyone to work together and keep their distance at dance.

Parent Responsibilities

  • Maintain two meters of social distancing at all times
  • Explain the importance of abiding by the new temporary rules
  • Wear masks when possible
  • Drop off and wait in car/ stay outside the premises - with exception to Friday daytime toddler classes
  • Get in touch by phone or email where possible instead of coming into the studio with questions
  • Keep your contact details with Brogan's School of Dance up to date in order to enable the NHS track and trace programme effectively
  • Contact us immediately if you or your child shows symptoms of the virus and have attended a dance class prior.

Teacher Responsibilities
  • Maintaining two meters of social distancing at all times, unless needed to assist someone for first aid or another essential reason, in which case the teacher will wear PPE - mask & gloves
  • Sanitising hands before, after and throughout classes.
  • Setting up sanitising stations and enforcing dancers to use them correctly
  • Preparing the room by disinfecting anything the dancers will touch e.g Ballet Barre / benches, Prior to class.
  • To lay out floor spots so dancers can clearly see where to stand for social distancing (children's classes)

General

If anyone develops coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms during any of our classes, they will be sent home.
If a child is awaiting collection, they should be moved if possible, to a room where they can be isolated behind a closed door, depending on the age of the child and with appropriate adult supervision if required. Ideally, a window should be opened for ventilation. If it is not possible to isolate them, we will move them to an area which is at least 2 metres away from other people.

PPE will be worn by staff caring for the child while they await collection if a distance of 2 metres cannot be maintained (such as for a very young child or a child with complex needs).

PPE will be worn if we have to administer first aid.

If a member of staff has helped someone who was taken unwell with coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms, they do not need to go home unless they develop symptoms themselves. They should wash their hands thoroughly for 20 seconds after any contact with someone who is unwell before cleaning the area with disinfectant after someone with symptoms has left.

Symptoms
The most important symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are recent onset of any of the following:
  • a new continuous cough
  • a high temperature
  • a loss of, or change in, your normal sense of taste or smell (anosmia)
For most people, coronavirus (COVID-19) will be a mild illness.
Children are likely to become infected with coronavirus (COVID-19) at roughly the same rate as adults, but the infection is usually mild.
If anyone has any of the symptoms above they should self-isolate at home.

There is a dedicated helpline number for education and children’s social care related queries for anyone working in early years through to universities, plus parents can call 0800 046 8687 – 8am to 6pm (Monday to Friday) or 10am to 4pm (Saturday to Sunday) –
